AutoExpense is a web application that reads Gmail receipts and payment confirmations (read-only), extracts transactions with AI, and helps you track spending with dashboards and CSV export.
Application purpose
AutoExpense is a personal finance and expense-tracking application. After you sign in with Google, the app requests read-only Gmail access so you can:
- Connect a Google account and scan selected date ranges for receipt, invoice, and payment emails
- Automatically extract merchant, amount, date, and category using AI
- View spending dashboards, manage categories, and export CSV (paid plans)
Why Gmail access is required
AutoExpense requires Gmail read-only permission to identify receipt and payment confirmation emails.
- Never sends emails
- Never deletes emails
- Never modifies emails
- Only reads email content required for expense extraction
How we use Google user data
To provide expense-tracking features, AutoExpense requests the following limited access:

gmail.readonly— Used only to read receipt, invoice, and payment confirmation emails you choose to scan. We do not send, delete, or modify email on your behalf. -
userinfo.emailanduserinfo.profile— Used to identify your account and personalize your expense dashboard.
Google user data is not used for advertising. We do not sell or share your data with third parties except trusted service providers who are contractually bound to protect it. Read our Privacy Policy for full details, including the Google API Services User Data Policy.
